Job summary

University of Hawai'i System is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Specialist to support the Leeward CC environment and library IT services. The role centers on assisting campus IT support, user training, and hardware maintenance across multiple sites in Hawaii.

Essential duties include liaising between ITG and the Library, supporting the Help Desk, and purchasing campus technology per state guidelines. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; 0 years of experience or equivalent.
• Functional knowledge of test center/help desk and microcomputer support (PC and Macintosh).
• Understanding of technology, systems, hardware, and software for support centers.
• Ability to identify problems, causes, and resolve routine issues in help desk and microcomputer support.
• Ability to interpret administrative directives and align IT operations with standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write reports and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison between ITG and Library to connect, adopt, and support technology.
• Provides services and support at Library Circulation desk and IT Help Desk.
• Assists with campus-wide IT support at satellite locations.
• Maintains and repairs hardware and peripherals; trains student workers.
• Provides guidance on technology use and campus security requirements.
• Maintains inventory of campus computers and printers.
