Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to lead federal feasibility studies and coordinate with ports, state agencies, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

You will manage staff and programs to deliver navigational, economic, and environmental studies. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of coastal engineering experience, professional registration, and a track record in project delivery, business development, and leadership within HDR's Waterfront

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of coastal engineering/planning experience in consulting or related field.
  • Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Ability to bridge design, regulatory and environmental compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead companywide Coastal & Navigable Waterways practice.
  • Bridge sponsors (ports, state agencies) and USACE to secure project authorization.
  • Manage staff and a program to deliver complex studies.
  • Develop pursuit strategies with Area Business Development Leaders.
  • Represent HDR at state and national professional organizations.
  • Maintain quality standards and production tools for projects.
