Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies and coordinate with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

You will manage staff, advance waterfront infrastructure projects, and ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations. The role requires strong coastal engineering expertise, 10+ years of experience, and the ability to bridge regulatory requirements with design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Master's degree in Coastal Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in coastal engineering and planning is essential.
  • Knowledge of USACE regulations, permitting and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead federal feasibility studies under WRDA and bridge local sponsors with USACE.
  • Manage staff and a program to deliver navigational, economic and environmental studies.
  • Develop market strategies and pursue opportunities with Area Leaders.
  • Oversee project delivery, quality standards and client satisfaction.
  • Represent HDR in professional and industry organizations.
