Job summary

HDR seeks an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to lead federal feasibility studies under WRDA, bridging local sponsors and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You will manage staff and a program delivering navigational, economic, and environmental studies to secure Congressional project authorization.

You will shape client relationships, coordinate with practice groups, and advance HDR’s employee-owned culture across maritime infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of coastal engineering and/or planning experience in consulting or related field.
  • Ability to bridge structural/civil/geotechnical design, regulatory and environmental compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead federal feasibility studies under WRDA Section 203.
  • Bridge the gap between local sponsors (ports, state agencies) and USACE.
  • Manage staff and a program delivering navigational, economic, and environmental studies.
