Job summary

HDR is seeking a Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to lead federal feasibility studies and coordinate with ports, state agencies and USACE. The role requires senior coastal engineering expertise, staff leadership, and a track record delivering navigable waterway projects with regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will manage projects, mentor staff, and help HDR expand its waterfront infrastructure offerings while maintaining HDR’s standards of technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline required.
• Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP or PMP preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 15+ years of coastal engineering/planning experience in consulting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal & navigable waterways projects and manage staff and programs.
• Bridge USACE regulations, environmental compliance and permitting requirements.
• Develop client relationships with area leaders and sponsors.
• Represent HDR at state and national professional organizations.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver complex studies on schedule.

Education
