Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies under WRDA. You will bridge sponsors and USACE, manage staff, and deliver complex studies to secure project authorization.

Your role includes client relationship building and strategic leadership within HDR’s Waterfront Infrastructure group. The position centers on leading maritime projects, coordinating with area leaders, and advancing HDR’s position as a thought leader in coastal

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years coastal engineering and/or planning experience in consulting or related field.
  • Ability to bridge design, federal regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of USACE permitting, USCG rules, and environmental compliance.
  • Coastal engineering principles, practices, design/build, and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop companywide competencies in channel planning, design and products.
  • Collaborate with market-area leaders to pursue innovative navigable channels and coastal trends.
  • Drive open communication regarding production needs and staffing.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop winning pursuit strategies.
  • Attract and retain industry talent across the organization.
  • Oversee delivery of services and maintain quality standards.
  • Lead development of marketing materials and proposals.
  • Lead workshare communications for technical excellence.
  • Promote professional development and production tools.
