Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer sites across the United States. The role emphasizes electrical/mechanical expertise, advanced diagnostics, and a customer-first mindset.

Travel is extensive, with preference for candidates near major airports in the East of the Mississippi. You will install systems, perform leveling and alignment, diagnose issues, and provide on-site or remote support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machine tool maintenance and service (electrical & mechanical).
• 5+ years remote technical support within the machine tool industry.
• Experience installing/servicing machining centers, including leveling and geometric alignment.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting knowledge.
• Knowledge of CNC control systems, including FANUC controls.
• Solid understanding of power circuits and industrial electrical systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (100% weekdays) and work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install new CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including all options and accessories.
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application-related issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions including repair or replacement solutions.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Provide service support at trade shows and company events when required.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
