Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is partnering with a CNC machine tool builder to recruit a Field Service Engineer capable of installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for CNC tools nationwide. The role emphasizes strong electrical and mechanical expertise and a customer-first mindset, reporting to the CNC Field Service Manager.

This position can be based anywhere east of the Mississippi with preference for candidates near an airport in IL, TN, KY, AL, or OH, and requires up to 100% travel on

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machine tool service and maintenance experience (electrical and mechanical).
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair CNC systems, including leveling and geometry alignment.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills with FANUC controls.
• Experience providing remote technical support to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
• Ability to travel 100% on weekdays, with overnight stays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites and verify performance.
• Perform leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
• Provide on-site and remote support via phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers and internal teams with technical guidance.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination.
• Assist with service at trade shows and company events.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
• Travel extensively to customer sites as required.
