Job summary

Markent Personnel is partnering with a CNC Machine Tool Builder to fill a CNC Field Service Engineer role. The engineer will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer facilities nationwide.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical expertise, advanced diagnostic skills, and a customer-first mindset. Travel is extensive, with work scattered across the East of the Mississippi region, and candidates near airports preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in CNC machine tool maintenance and service (electrical and mechanical).
• 5+ years providing remote technical support in machine tool industry.
• Experience installing/servicing machining centers, incl. leveling and alignment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC control systems, including FANUC controls.
• Solid understanding of power circuits and industrial electrical systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service.
• Ability to travel extensively (100% weekdays) and work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including all options and accessories.
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments to ensure peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application-related issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions including repair or replacement solutions.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Provide service support at trade shows and company events when required.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
• Travel extensively (100%) including overnights and occasional weekend travel.
• Perform other duties as needed.
