Job summary

Joseph Michaels International partners with a CNC Machine Tool Builder to recruit a Field Service Engineer. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer facilities nationwide, with heavy travel and on-site support.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills, PLC knowledge, and a customer-first mindset. You will provide on-site and remote support, train customers, and report service activities to ensure peak machine performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machine tool maintenance and service experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with FANUC CNC controls and other CNC systems.
• Ability to diagnose root causes and implement repair solutions.
• Willingness to travel 100% (weekdays, with overnight stays).
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites including options and accessories.
• Perform leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for peak machine performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, including repair or replacement.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support by phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers, distributors and internal teams with guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Provide service support at trade shows and company events as required.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
• Travel extensively (100%) including overnights and weekend travel.
