Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its finance group, structured finance subgroup and focus on CMBS transactions. This position is open to all of our U.S.

offices. You will perform in-depth legal research and writing, support high-stakes transactions from inception to closing, interact with clients, and collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to devise strategic solutions while upholding the firm’s standards.

Qualifications

• JD and accreditation required.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research and craft clear, persuasive writing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and client-relations skills.
• Experience with CMBS or structured finance is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case/transaction preparation.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution.
• Maintain strong internal/external client relationships with regular updates and advice.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop strategies.
• Attend, support, and participate in negotiations, hearings, and trials.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on precedents.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and leadership training.
• Engage in firm citizenship and pro bono activities.
