Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its finance group, structured finance subgroup and focus on CMBS transactions. This position is open to all of our offices in the U.S.

The role requires strong research, writing, and negotiation skills, with at least 2 years of experience in CMBS/structured finance and a JD from an accredited law school. The firm supports hybrid work and excellence in client service.

Qualifications

• JD required and admitted to practice in relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 2 years' experience at a law firm, preferably in CMBS or structured finance.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities; ability to manage complex transactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research to support transactions.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts and correspondence with precision.
• Assist/Manage CMBS and structured finance transactions from inception to close.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop strategy.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with evolving laws and firm policies.
