Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an associate to join its finance group, structured finance subgroup, focusing on CMBS transactions. This position is open to all U.S. offices.

You will conduct legal research, draft documents, manage transactions from inception to closing, and collaborate with partners to deliver client-ready deals. Eligibility requires a JD and admission to practice in the suitable state.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant state.
• Experience with commercial real estate finance, CMBS, structured finance or securities offering preferred.
• AmLaw 100 experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case/transaction prep.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts and correspondence with precision.
• Assist/Manage complex cases/transactions from inception to closing.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and advice.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions and negotiations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing training to enhance knowledge and leadership skills.
• Engage in firm citizenship and community initiatives.
