Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its finance group, structured finance subgroup and focus on CMBS transactions. This position is open to all offices in the U.S.

You will conduct legal research, draft documents, and assist with complex cases and transactions while building client relationships and collaborating with lawyers and business professionals to develop innovative strategies for favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state in which they are offic­ing.
• At least 2 years of experience at a law firm; CMBS/structured finance or securities experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case/transaction preparation and strategy.
• Draft well-written, error-free legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution, including preparing for trials, negotiations, closings, and other activities.
• Build and cultivate strong internal and external client relationships with regular updates and professional communication.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop innovative case/transaction strategies.
