Job summary

Excel Fitness in Chesapeake, VA seeks a full-time Club Operations Leader reporting to the General Manager. You will assist with strategy, hiring, onboarding, and staff development to maintain Excel’s culture and high service standards.

You will supervise up to 20 Team Players, manage scheduling and payroll items, monitor KPI goals, and ensure certification compliance. The role requires strong leadership and operational oversight.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a HS diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED certification required; uncertified staff must obtain training within 30 days of employment.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop and supervise others.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Team oriented, motivated and well organized.
• Ability to think critically, evaluate solutions, handle confidential information.
• Basic understanding in Excel, Word, DataTrak, Workday, Service Channel and related applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in planning and implementing member attraction strategies.
• Oversee hiring, interviewing and onboarding to our standards.
• Train and develop new team members; supervise up to 20 Team Players.
• Ensure certifications and trainings are up to date.
• Counsel and discipline performance; motivate staff to perform their best.
• Monitor KPI goals and club metrics; report to GM.
• Maintain a clean facility and provide world-class member service.
• Enter work orders and ensure equipment and space are serviceable.
• Manage inventory and coordinate with HQ on orders.
• Assist with marketing/promotional activities and payroll items.
