Job summary

Excel Fitness in Portsmouth, VA seeks a full-time Club Operations Leader to assist the GM in planning strategies to attract and retain members while upholding our values. You will oversee hiring, onboarding, and staff development to ensure exceptional member service and culture.

You will train the team, ensure certifications are current, manage payroll-related items, and monitor KPI metrics. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills within a busy fitness club

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others.
• Familiar with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in planning and implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on our Excel Core Values while maintaining a positive culture.
• Accountable for the hiring process, from selecting candidates, interviewing process, and ensuring onboarding documentation is filled out to our standards.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Ensure all Team Players stay up to date on certifications and scheduled training requirements.
• Counsel and discipline team member performance; supervise, motivate, and coach staff to perform to their best abilities.
• Support GM with monitoring KPI goals and metrics for the club.
• Assist GM with club inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure a great atmosphere and world-class member service.
