Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead assigned departments, develop talent, and ensure top-tier member experiences. The AMIT role prepares for advancement to one of three leadership tracks, with responsibility for policy execution, audit compliance, and daily club operations.

Ideal candidates bring ServSafe certification (required in some locations) and the ability to oversee audits, training, and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Requires 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager.
• Strong drive for results and solid work ethic.
• Honest, straightforward, and committed to high levels of service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Solid understanding of shrink controls, merchandising, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, front-line, gas station, tire bay, and omni procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience) with emphasis on business acumen and accountability.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members, including interviewing and staffing decisions.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to align with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management through accurate stock and availability.
• Enforce member experience standards (GAA, GOLD) and ensure club readiness and safety.
