Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, a leading warehouse retailer, seeks an Assistant Club Manager in Training to guide departments, develop talent, and uphold GOLD standards. The role includes leadership duties, certification oversight, and ensuring smooth daily operations across the club.

The AMIT will work closely with the Club Manager, progressing toward senior leadership with development in merchandising, perishables, or member experience tracks, while maintaining high service levels for members.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations leadership.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Solid understanding of shrink controls, merchandising, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certification; forklift operator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members with certification where required; ensure staff readiness.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling aligned with budget targets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management; ensure product availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, audits, and club standards.
