Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead and develop departments, drive performance, and ensure operational excellence in the club. You will prepare for one of three tracks by demonstrating leadership, coaching, and collaboration with partners.

The AMIT role includes managing audits, onboarding, training for food safety, and serving as Manager on Duty when needed. A ServSafe certification is required, with potential forklift responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager.
• Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a results-driven mindset.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, front-line, gas station, maintenance, and omni procedures.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members, including interviewing decisions and certification.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to align with budgets and trends.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management.
• Champion Member Experience Standards (GAA, GOLD) across departments.
• Utilize BJ’s MY WORK system to execute daily tasks and initiatives.
