Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Closing Manager to lead club operations, mentor the Recovery, Perishables, and Utility teams, and maintain high GOLD standards for member service. You will partner with Club leadership to drive daily results and ensure food safety compliance, including forklift and safety training.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on coaching, and the ability to manage end-of-day processes with a focus on operational excellence and member satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations required.
• Experience in managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• Forklift Certification required.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Open shift availability required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must maintain all training and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Own end-of-day execution: Oversee Recovery, Utility, Perishables and overnight prep to ensure readiness for morning open.
• Lead by presence: Walk the floor during closing hours to engage Members and team performance.
• Maintain GOLD Standards: Ensure GAA and related service behaviors across all areas.
• Ensure departments are clean, stocked, and ready for the next day.
• Coach onboarding and certifications: Reinforce ServSafe, PPE, and department training.
• Drive improvement in underperforming areas by following up on action plans.
