Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation and coding, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care.

The role emphasizes accurate CPT/ICD-10 coding, after-visit summaries, and collaboration with the care team in a value-based care environment. Commitment of 1–2 years is ideal, with in-person clinic work and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology required or gained through pre-medical studies or clinical exposure.
• Prior clinical experience including shadowing or volunteering preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes during visits.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare after-visit summaries.
• Provide support to providers in clinical documentation improvement.
• Perform administrative tasks and assist the care team as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
