Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation and coding accuracy in clinic settings. The role emphasizes accurate, timely notes, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and after-visit summaries to support value-based care.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a clinical role and strong typing, listening, and multilingual communication skills. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and requires in-person work at Oak Street Health clinics

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications, either from a pre-medical degree or prior clinical experience [required]
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering [strongly preferred]
• Prior scribe or transcription experience [preferred but not required]

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note, including HPI, assessment, plan, and physical exam; assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Prepare After Visit Summaries and support documentation improvements
• Provide administrative support to the provider and care team and assist with related tasks
• Other duties as assigned
