Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters, coding with CPT/ICD-10, and preparing visit summaries. The role emphasizes accuracy, knowledge of medical terminology, and collaboration with the care team.

This full-time on-site position requires strong typing speed and the ability to learn new workflows. Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing/volunteering) preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish/Polish/Russian) helpful where indicated.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time with structured notes (HPI, assessment, plan, and exam).
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support daily huddles and clinical documentation reviews; assist with referrals and orders.
