Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time, observing visits, and helping prepare after-visit summaries. Scribes will learn ICD-10/CPT coding and contribute to accurate, timely documentation.

Ideal candidates have strong listening and communication skills, fast typing (70+ wpm), and willingness to work full-time in clinics with 40 hours per week. Spanish/other languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience or shadowing preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time to support accurate charting.
• Join providers in exam rooms to observe visits and document findings.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries and ensure coding accuracy (CPT/ICD-10).
• Assist with clinical documentation improvement and care team workflows.
