Job summary

Oak Street Health MSO LLC is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation in a busy clinic environment. The role emphasizes accurate coding (CPT/ICD-10), after-visit summaries, and collaboration with care teams to close care gaps.

Ideal candidates have clinical exposure or pre-med experience, strong typing speed, and the ability to learn new workflows. The position offers full-time hours with in-person clinic work and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing or volunteering, strongly preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time and in structured notes.
• Join providers in exam rooms to observe and document visits.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries for patients.
• Support clinical documentation improvement initiatives and review medical records.
• Coordinate with providers to ensure accurate documentation and care gaps closure.
• Provide administrative support to the care team, including placing orders and referrals.
• Assist with daily huddles and clinical documentation reviews.
• Support population health tools usage to improve documentation quality.
• Other duties as assigned by the care team.
