Qualifications

• GS-04: Six months general experience; six months specialized experience in medical lab support or completion of an associate degree program with two years of relevant coursework.
• GS-05: One year specialized experience or a bachelor’s degree with related coursework.
• GS-06: One year specialized experience in standardized clinical lab tests and QA; knowledge of biosafety.
• GS-07: One year specialized experience conducting diverse lab tests and documenting results; ability to supervise or guide others.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate results, troubleshoot, and ensure accuracy of laboratory findings.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain laboratory instruments and prepare reagents and culture media.
• Collect and process patient specimens, track in laboratory information systems, and prepare specimens for testing or referral.
• Validate and document results, communicate with healthcare providers, and support accreditation activities.
