Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Medical Technician (Laboratory Support) to perform a broad range of clinical lab tests and support quality assurance in American Indian communities. Qualifications

• Six months general experience in a laboratory or related field.
• Six months of specialized laboratory support experience with CLIA concepts.
• Completion of an accredited lab assistant program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate test results, troubleshoot and repeat procedures as needed.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments; prepare reagents and media.
• Collect and process patient specimens; track in laboratory systems.
• Validate and document results; communicate with healthcare providers; support QA/compliance per CAP/CLIA.
