Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Medical Technician (Laboratory Support) to perform diverse clinical laboratory tests and support patient care in American Indian communities. The position requires completing federally mandated background checks, E-Verify readiness, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of general experience for GS-4 level.
• Six (6) months of specialized experience performing medical laboratory support tasks.
• Possession of an associate degree with specified coursework or a combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate test results and troubleshoot procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and quality control activities.
• Collect and process patient specimens and prepare for testing or referral.
