Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical information.
• Strong mathematical, reasoning and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs high, moderate or waived laboratory testing per SOPs.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions and documents troubleshooting.
• Confirms, verifies and reports test results independently.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Correlates data and assists physicians in interpretation of results.
• Performs quality control and participates in improvement activities.
• Provides orientation and training of new staff or students.
• Prepares and collects specimens for analysis.
• Participates in CSI and continuing education.
• Performs instrument and assay validations and signs off on competencies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science
