Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to perform CLIA moderate and high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and more, ensuring rapid, accurate results for physicians.

You will ensure quality control, calibrations, and maintenance, train new staff, and uphold HIPAA compliance while contributing to QA projects and continuous education.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a CLIA high complexity lab.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, computer skills for online learning, forms, benefits, etc.
• Must have working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA moderate and high complex lab testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, microbiology, coagulation, serology, and molecular diagnostics.
• Records quality control, calibrations, validations on test assays and analyzes results.
• Performs preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on lab instrumentation.
• Validates data, interprets results, and reports to physicians, infection control, and regulatory agencies.
• Performs specimen collection, handling, processing, and storage; evaluates specimen quality.
• Assists in QA/QI projects and with training of new staff; maintains competency.
