Job summary

1046 Health Network Laboratories LLC is seeking a certified medical technologist to join our microbiology team. The role involves performing high, moderate, and waived testing per SOPs with independent judgment and minimal supervision.

You will troubleshoot instruments, verify results, monitor quality controls, train new staff, and participate in continuous system improvement. A bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science and CLIA-compliant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science field from an accredited institution; or meet CLIA grandfathered medical technologist regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community.
• Ability to write speeches and articles in prescribed style and format.
• Mathematical ability: probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions and work with multiple variables.
• Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, LIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform high, moderate, or waived laboratory testing according to SOPs.
• Recognize and correct instrument malfunctions and document troubleshooting.
• Verify and report test results independently.
• Monitor results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Correlate and interpret data generated from testing.
• Assist physicians in interpreting test results within professional scope.
• Conduct quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Provide clinical orientation and training for new staff or students.
• Prepare and collect specimens for analysis.
• Participate in Continuous System Improvement (CSI) and continuing education.
• Perform instrument and assay validations.
• Sign off on technical competencies and delegate competency for complex testing.
