Job summary

Holy Name Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform moderate to high complexity testing and ensure specimen integrity throughout the analytical process. You will evaluate orders, enter results in HIS/LIS, and maintain quality control under supervision.

Responsibilities include supervising junior staff, troubleshooting instrument issues, and adhering to safety protocols. AASCP certification or eligible status is preferred; both associate and bachelor degrees in

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or eligible required upon hire (preferred)
• Associate/Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related life sciences required
• Experience preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate specimens and maintain specimen identity

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimens and test orders for acceptability and determines rejections according to guidelines.
• Maintains positive identity of patient specimens and specimen types throughout the analytical process.
• Enters and verifies results completely and accurately in the LIS/HIS systems.
• Performs tests under indirect supervision and in accordance with Laboratory policy.
• Supervises less-skilled personnel and demonstrates independent judgement based on scientific knowledge.
