Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe for a full-time role in a primary care setting. The scribe will document patient encounters in real time, assign CPT and ICD-10 codes, and prepare after-visit summaries to support providers and improve care quality.

The ideal candidate has strong listening and communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to learn new workflows quickly. This role includes on-site clinic work with a typical 40-hour week and a clear path for

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology from pre-medical degree or clinical exposure.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing or volunteering, strongly preferred.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in structured notes (history, assessment, plan, exam).
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Preparing After Visit Summaries.
• Supporting clinical documentation improvement and care coordination.
