Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe (Clinical Informatics Specialist) to work closely with a single provider, in the exam room and during huddles, to ensure accurate and timely documentation. Training focuses on our value-based care model, ICD-10/CPT coding, EMRs, and population health.

The role emphasizes chronic disease management support, post-visit summaries, and daily huddles with the care team.

Qualifications

• Typing speed minimum of 55 WPM (70+ preferred).
• Commitment of at least 1 year (2+ years preferred).
• Ability to work in-person approximately 40-45 hours per week.
• This is a full-time position, no part-time Scribe roles.
• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and quick-learning ability.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes (history, assessment, plan, exam).
• Join provider in exam room to observe patient visits.
• Assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support Clinical Documentation Improvement and population health tools.
