Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (Medical Scribe) to support primary care providers with real-time documentation and coding. This full-time role involves observing in the exam room, documenting encounters, and helping close care gaps within a value-based care model.

You’ll receive extensive on-the-job training in clinical workflows, with opportunities in health informatics and population health.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications from pre-medical studies or clinical experience.
• Prior clinical experience including shadowing or volunteering is highly preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with history, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assist with CPT and ICD-10 coding; prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Provide administrative support (orders, referrals, task handling) to the care team.
