Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado Springs is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to handle scheduling, patient inquiries, and messages while ensuring HIPAA compliance. You will coordinate with patients, providers, and locations using the EHR system to schedule visits, tests, or procedures.

The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and prior medical office experience. This position is based in Colorado and offers PRN benefits including wellbeing funds and 403(b) eligibility.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc.
• Receives and initiates calls to and from patients, providers, outside provider offices, while following established scheduling procedures and protocols.
• Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software.
• Promptly answers incoming calls in a professional manner and scheduling of patient appointments.
• Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient.
• Manages electronic requests through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments.
• Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests.
