Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Northern Virginia seeks a Clinic Operations Representative to provide patient services and administrative support in ambulatory clinics. You will schedule appointments, register patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and coordinate with families, physicians, and staff to ensure smooth clinic flow.

This non-benefits-eligible, PRN position offers up to 40 hours per week, with shifts that vary 7:00 am–6:00 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year experience in billing, patient registration, and scheduling; medical insurance verification.
• Broad clinic knowledge and strong customer service skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; typing 35 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and register patients using the department system.
• Collect accurate demographic and insurance information; verify data.
• Answer phones and provide courteous, professional assistance to families.
• Process co-pays, deposits, and payments; maintain cash controls.
• Support office functions: file, mail, and manage communication.
• Assist with documentation and HIPAA/privacy materials.
