Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Clinic Operations Representative to provide patient services and administrative support in a pediatric clinic setting. You will interact with parents, patients, physicians and staff, confirm demographics and insurance information, and assist with scheduling and registrations.

The role includes ensuring compliance, handling payments, and coordinating with various departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience in billing, patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
• Broad clinic knowledge and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Ambulatory Services training and competency assessments.
• Typing minimum 35 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients using the department's system and register them professionally.
• Collect demographic and insurance information; ensure accuracy.
• Verify insurance eligibility and pre-authorizations ahead of services.
• Explain co-pays, deposits, and payment options with families.
• Assist with billing preparation and cash collection targets.
• Answer calls, manage voicemails, and maintain organized office files.
• Support other staff and float to clinics as needed.
