Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Clinic Operations Representative to provide patient services and administrative support in clinic operations. You will interact with parents, patients and physicians with moderate supervision, handling registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.

You will also assist other staff, verify demographics, and ensure compliance materials are distributed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 1 year experience performing billing, patient registration, and scheduling, medical insurance verification, insurance screening (Required).
• Broad clinic knowledge and customer service skills; computer knowledge necessary; Microsoft Office experience (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accuracy of scheduling patients using the department's scheduling system.
• Complete on‑line registration with parent/guardian in a professional & courteous manner.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance information; update systems as needed.
• Reschedule appointments for no-shows or cancellations; schedule follow‑ups at checkout.
• Greet patients and parents courteously and enter them into the system per policy.
• Obtain insurance cards and photo IDs for medical records; ensure forms are filed correctly.
