Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Clinton Township clinic to manage check-in, verify insurance, and handle a multi-line phone system. You will also file medical records and collect co-pays in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong customer service and computer skills, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining confidentiality and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
• Scans documents into electronic health record.
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day.
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day.
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record.
• Orders clinic office supplies.
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
• Distributes mail.
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.
