Job summary

Encova Insurance invites applications for a full-time summer internship for 2027. The position is based in the U.S. with preference for candidates who can work hybrid or in our Charleston, WV office; we may consider remote work in approved payroll states.

Qualifications

• Internship requires full-time summer availability (40 hours/week) during 2027.
• Must be enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours.
• Experience in customer service and/or claims intake, insurance industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive initial claim information from customers via phone, email, or fax.
• Provide information on loss reporting options.
• Determine appropriate policy and coverage for loss.
• On-board new associates with leadership team.
• Analyze information and triage required actions.
• Document facts of loss in the computer system.
• Respond to requests via telephone, email, or correspondence.
• Interpret coverage and issue claim decisions.
• Review and document intake processes.
• Other functions as needed.
