Job summary

Encova Insurance offers a full-time summer internship for 2027. The role may be remote within approved payroll states or hybrid in the Charleston, WV area, with a 40-hour work week. You must be enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Key duties include handling initial claim information, advising on loss reporting options, and supporting the Engagement Center. Prior customer service and/or insurance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• This is a full-time summer internship for 2027 and requires enrollment with at least 60 credit hours completed.
• Must reside and work within specific U.S. states; current footprint includes Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin.
• One year or more of full-time customer service and/or claims intake experience; insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive initial claim information from customers via telephony, email, or fax.
• Provide information on loss reporting options and determine applicable policy coverage.
• Onboard new associates and analyze claim data to determine next steps.
• Document and update information in the computer system and respond to internal/external requests.
• Interpret coverage and issue claim decisions for engagements.
• Assist with intake processes and procedure review.
