Qualifications

• Excellent understanding and skill level of internal and external customer service.
• Knowledge of specialized claim handling, policy interpretation and damage assessment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assertive daily handling of Property Claims associated with Property and Binding Authority Underwriting policies, with reinsurers updated when applicable.
• Provide reporting on files to Unit Leader/Senior Management with recommendations on reserving and plans of action.

• Attend business-related functions such as team meetings, mediations, trials, and company events.
• May perform other related tasks as assigned based on business needs.

We're seeking a team-oriented and motivated Claim Specialist to join our Property Claims unit in Atlanta, Georgia! The Claim Specialist provides specialized, autonomous claims handling expertise for our E&S Commercial Property line of business.

Strong working relationships are a key component of RSUI’s team-oriented, high-performance culture. Team meetings, employee events, and other work obligations also often require an in-person presence. This position will work RSUI’s hybrid schedule, which requires three days weekly in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assertive daily handling of Property Claims associated with Property and Binding Authority Underwriting policies. When applicable, keeping reinsurers updated on developments which allow them to evaluate their exposures.
• Provide appropriate reporting on files to the Unit Leader and/or Sr. Management with recommendations on reserving, plan of action, and current evaluation as required.
• Act independently in evaluating claim exposures within assigned dollar authority.
• Attends business related functions, such as team meetings, mediations, trials, company events, etc.
• May perform other related tasks as assigned, depending on business need.

• Technical experience in claims, claims handling practices, and practical knowledge of coverage and policy language.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (telephone, email and interpersonal).
• Excellent understanding and skill level of internal and external customer service.
• Knowledge of specialized claim handling, policy interpretation-both standard forms and manuscript forms, damage assessment, expert selection and management, principles of investigation, adjustment documentation and evaluation of cases to determine effective course of action.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
