Job summary

RSUI, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Claim Specialist for our Property Claims unit in Atlanta, Georgia. This role provides autonomous claims handling expertise for our E&S Commercial Property line and requires in-person collaboration with a three-day weekly office presence.

You will report to the Unit Leader, manage file reporting, and evaluate exposures within authority while maintaining strong communication with reinsurers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent property claims experience.
• 3+ years of property claims experience, incl. commercial property.
• Technical experience in claims handling and policy language.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication (phone, email).
• Strong customer service skills and internal/external service.
• Knowledge of policy interpretation (forms and manuscript) and damage assessment.
• Proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assertive daily handling of Property Claims.
• Report progress and reserving recommendations to leadership.
• Evaluate claim exposures within dollar authority.
• Attend team meetings, mediations, trials, and events.
• May perform related tasks as needed.
