Job summary

Schnabel seeks a temporary full-time Civil Engineering intern to support our geotechnical and environmental projects in a hands-on, collaborative setting. This internship emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under supervision from senior engineers and runs from May through August 2027.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, capable of working in offices and field environments, and prepared for some travel and lifting of up to 50

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work.
• Desire and willingness to work outdoors.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in performing geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation support design, hydrology and hydraulic studies; and reinforced concrete design
• Preparing construction plans
• Supporting advanced earthquake engineering analyses
• Performing construction observation and materials testing
• Some travel may be required
