Job summary

Schnabel, Inc. is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support growing work in geotechnical and environmental projects.

The position runs from May through August 2027 and offers hands-on field, lab, and design exposure under experienced engineers. Ideal candidates are current ABET-accredited Civil Engineering students with strong communication skills, the ability to work in teams, and a willingness to perform both office and field tasks, including outdoor work and lifting up

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering bachelor’s program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks as part of a team.
• Willingness to work outdoors and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface exploration observations and GPS layout.
• Conduct construction observation and materials testing at sites.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Support engineers in preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
