Schnabel Engineering is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support geotechnical and environmental projects. The internship runs from May through August 2027, offering hands-on field, lab, and design exposure under senior engineers.

This paid internship emphasizes practical knowledge, problem solving, and collaboration across disciplines. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow direction.
• Willingness to perform diverse tasks including office and field work.
• Desire to work outdoors and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface exploration and GPS borings.
• Conduct construction observation and materials testing at sites.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Assist engineers with geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
