Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support our geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam projects. The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under supervision from senior engineers.

The internship runs May through August 2027. Candidates should be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with strong communication skills and willingness to work in office and field environments.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
• Good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work.
• Desire to work outdoors and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical investigations and analyses and design tasks.
• Prepare construction plans and assist with analyses.
• Assist in advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing.
• Some travel may be required.
