Qualifications

• 1 year of education toward a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine the scope of work for the project.
• Complete accurate takeoffs utilizing software and hand takeoffs for various project aspects.
• Calculate quantities (area/length/volume) to determine materials and movement.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors for bid preparation and final numbers; consider DBE/MBE requirements.
• Construct bids by adding activities, crews and equipment and adjust production rates.
• Print bid proposals and review with estimator or project manager.
• Observe the change order process and attend project meetings.
