Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop seeks a Chief Workshop Manager to oversee overall workshop success, guest experience, and a high-performing team. You will drive sales, manage payroll, forecasting, and scheduling aligned with business trends to meet targets, while leading a team and enforcing brand standards.

You will hire and promote staff, supervise operations, and ensure policy compliance, safety, and execution of merchandising and inventory processes in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using POS, scheduling, HRIS, and time & attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders to deliver a premier Guest experience.
• Create weekly schedules and assign daily tasks with the AWM while leading the team during shifts.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions based on feedback and staff recommendations.
• Enforce policies, ensure safety, manage cash handling and store security, and escalate issues to HR/DM as needed.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and maintain an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team in partnership with the AWM.
